As you probably know by now, I love to shoot weddings, so of course I had to say yes when asked if I wanted to be the photographer for a wedding hairstyles catalogue for a hairdressing team based in Gütersloh. Actually, a “former bride” whose wedding day I once captured put us in touch. I was especially curious because everything happened with a bunch of ordinary people who had never posed in front of a camera for a real shoot. You never know what you’re going to get (to paraphrase Forrest Gump), but I just simply felt that it’d turn out well in the end. The idea was to create as many hairstyles as possible within two days to give future customers an idea of what they might expect on the big day. To give everything a more dynamic feel, I thought I’d show the making-of process leading up to each end result. Lisa, the hairdresser who did almost all the styles and make-up by herself (more than 20 within two days), really did an amazing job! She worked incredibly quickly and at such a high-quality level that there really was no time for a break – exhausting, but worth it!
